Ingredients
2 pounds ground alligator meat
1 egg
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon fine chopped garlic
12 slider buns, toasted
Toppings of choice: Alligator Sauce, recipe follows, caramelized onions, American cheese, seasoned aioli, arugula, tomatoes and thin-shaved raw onions
Alligator Sauce:
1/3 quart prepared horseradish
2 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 cup sweet chili sauce
1/2 cup teriyaki glaze
1/3 cup steak sauce
3 tablespoons Creole mustard
3 tablespoons hot sauce
3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1/2 bunch fresh parsley, chopped
Directions
- Combine the alligator meat, egg, salt, pepper, nutmeg, cayenne and garlic in a large bowl. Form the mixture into 2 1/2-ounce patties.
- Cook patties in a hot skillet or on a hot grill, 2 minutes on each side.
- Place on buns and top with your toppings of choice.
Alligator Sauce:
- Combine the horseradish, mayonnaise, chili sauce, teriyaki, steak sauce, mustard, hot sauce, Worcestershire and parsley in a large bowl and mix until emulsified. Keep refrigerated.
